ExStink Testimonials ... January 1, 2005 I am writing to thank you for your fabulous deodorizing product! My family and I moved to a new house this past summer. When the cold weather came we tried using the fireplace that had not been used in quite some time. After our second fire the entire first level of the house smelled very strongly of smoke. We did not know what to do. It was during the holidays and we had several gatherings planned at our house. We tried many different things including spraying an entire can of Glade room spray just before guests arrived. Nothing worked. My husband then found your product on line and we ordered it. The lady who I spoke with when ordering was extremely helpful and very nice! She told me just how to use the product. We ordered the powder. When it arrived we put it to use right away. We followed the directions by putting it on paper plates in and around the fireplace. We then removed the powder and replaced it with fresh after 2 hours. Because the smoke smell was so strong it took us 2 treatments but by the end of the day the odor was gone. We are continuing to use it on an as needed basis. I had the chimney cleaned and checked and cleaned out the fireplace very carefully, but the odor stays. What can I do about this? P. Forgarty Fireplace odor is often caused by moisture, a dirty chimney or unseasoned wood. Since you have already had the chimney cleaned and checked, concentrate on the other two problems. A chimney cap will help keep moisture out of the chimney. If you can get on your roof safely, you can buy a cap at a home center and install it yourself. The cost is about $40.00.
